When Maharaji first arrived in the West he had virtually no money and stayed at hippie crash pads and traveled on Greyhound buses, cowering in the toilet at the rear of the coach. And today he flies his own Gulfstream IV, a 25+ million dollar (U.S.) luxury corporate aircraft, the same brand that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Apple Computer Interim Chairman Steve Jobs flies.
Maharaji has huge luxury homes, most likely on every continent with the exception of Antarctica. It is believed that Maharaji has a luxury yacht. Maharaji wears only the finest clothing purchased on Rodeo Drive and other fashion centers throughout the world. How many Divine Sales hand-me-downs did you wear when you lived in Maharaji's ashram where you lived with no health coverage and if you had a serious medical problem they'd simply kick you out. Just by selling off part of his wristwatch collection he could easily buy you a luxury home on Maui and provide you cash to live on for the rest of your life.
He wants more! How much of what he has have you helped him acquire? How well are you living? And now for a little "Ballad of a Thin Man" from Bob:
And what's Dylan without some "Like a Rolling Stone":
Sorry about that. Got carried away. Let's get down to business!

Rainbow Grocery
Various incarnations of Rainbow Grocery (Prem Mark, Clearly Natures Own, etc.) existed throughout the United States. Rainbow was built on the backs of premies and even unsuspecting co-op members under the guise of doing Service for Maharaji (feeding and clothing the world.) In the bitter end the popular little store fronts became fairly successful and fairly large. In fact, they were large enough to be bought out for millions in 1995. Rainbow was privately owned and operated by premies and directed by Maharaji's official inner circle (Robert Jacobs, Donald DeLaski, John Bale, etc.)

SEVA Corporation
This could be the big daddy of them all. SEVA Corp., incorporated in Nebraska, is the apparent vehicle that owns many of the large assets like the aircraft, residences, etc. that Maharaji enjoys so much. I have been told that seva is sanskrit and means service.

QUANTUM INCORPORATED
You must have started to wonder about your sweet old Guru by now. And one thing for sure is that he ain't no small-time idiot. Nope, he's right up there with the best of them. He probably doesn't own a damn thing except for his Rolex. It's all been cleverly crafted by the best that money and devotion can buy.
Who's behind it all? I'd say that Robert A. Jacobs, a big time tax expert from a very prestigious New York firm at One Chase Manhattan Plaza, is The Man. More about him later. Quantum might be inactive, but it served it's purpose of leasing and/or the owning of aircraft. 19990921 Quantum Inc. |
